Labrador Slate is hard, tough slate, suitable for exterior or interior use. It's split by hand following the natural bedding layers of the stone, giving it a cleft texture with non-slip "tooth". The backs of floor tiles are calibrated, producing a uniform thickness suitable for thin-set installation. All the colors except Multicolor are also available in a honed (semi-polished) finish. Labrador Multicolor is a gray slate with a patina of rust on its surface. This patina is beautiful and unpredictable, so be sure to see several tiles in order to get a feeling for the range of color.
